Oh, February Comes With Pictures.

I would like to offer an explanation for the unnecessarily narcissistic new header.

I have decided that in February I will let this blog rest from words. I will continue to post, but without any paragraphs. I am going to do a photo-a-day February, and see what happens. I will likely put a word or two within the photo, but other than that, words will rest. I will use the simple Kodak CX7430 that is seen in my bathroom mirror, up above.

Not long ago, one of my newest friends sat with me in (what is becoming) one of my most favorite coffeehouses. We were talking about longings, and all of the messiness of hopefulness. I said something from experience, and she said,

“My, Jenelle, I feel as if I’ve just read one of your blog posts!”

I know she meant it as a compliment to honesty. And surely, I hope my writing voice closely matches the sound of my actual voice. But I took it as a Holy Spirited warning. I want to make sure I am investing good words and honesty in my newest friendships offline, long before I am writing about them online.

That is one of the main reasons I will let the blog rest with just pictures in February. I hope you will bear with me.  I am more comfortable with words than pictures.  It will be good for us, I think.

  1. I look forward to your photos 🙂

And I think your header is really cool and would not have classed it as narcissistic.

  2. Oh! I’ve got a new profile photo up, thanks to you. Sluggish skinny band over here didn’t seem to want to comply so I send thanks to my favorite cyber queen for her assistance 🙂 You really are a wonder.

here’s some real narcissism: I’m ashamed by the verbal mess in the first sentence of my comment. forgive me. 😛

    Hey Jenelle,
I think this is very wise, taking sometime to intentionally invest in your offline relationships. I pray fun things for it, and look forward to seeing pictures of that life.

You know they say a picture is worth 1000 words. I have been missing both lately. I look forward to the February-foto-blog. 🙂
